Heroes of EduSports

I am doing my Bit | Udhaya Kumar Yadav | Heroes of EduSports

My father passed away when I was in 6th class. Our small middle class family was shattered; each one of us was trying to pick up the pieces and make something out of it.

For me, it took a turn when a godfather was sent my way- my school coach. He trained me religiously, first in athletics and later in volleyball and I competed till national levels. When I passed 12th class, he guided me to continue with my diploma in Physical Education and simultaneously helped me get a job in a school.

Back in the time, my village did not have any facilities to play or study. The only decent playground was 1.5 km away from my home. While the older children played on the streets, I quietly sat in one corner, next to our hut and watched them.

Time to change the Game | Sareesh C Sasi | Heroes of EduSports

One day I got a call from the co-founder of our company and she appreciated my efforts. That call was followed by many other calls from other managers. It is when she detailed out a mail that she had received, a mail of appreciation from one of the parents, then I got the complete story.

Sports never let me feel like an outsider | Naveen | Heroes of EduSports

Sports was always a part of me but somewhere in the race of education and profession, it got sidelined. During my high school, I would sum up all my courage to go and ask my Physical Training teacher if I could also play in the team of Volley ball. And I continued asking until I was taken as a substitute. From there I made my way to the team and eventually became the captain. Volley ball, Kabaddi, Kho-Kho, Throw ball, I embraced all sports and played at various state levels. Sports never let me feel like an outsider and I felt complete working and sweating it out on fields. But then life’s reality hit..

Sports can change one’s life | G. Naresh | Heroes of EduSports

There are many who love football but I doubt if they love the game the way I do. I was an athlete to start with and without much difficulty I got admission in The Sport School of Hyderabad. It is very different to study in a sports school. You get exposed to all the sports and may become adept in any sport of your choice. It is much like studying basics of Maths, Science, Arts and then deciding the stream that you want to pursue for further studies. I chose football.
