Education, health and empowerment
The Road to School project by Ashok Leyland was started in 2015 with the aim of improving primary and middle school education in government schools in Tamil Nadu. Currently over 100 government schools in the Krishnagiri, Thiruvallur, and Namakkal districts of Tamil Nadu are part of the program with close to 20,000 children covered.
The program has been implemented in partnership with Learning Link Foundation (LLF) a non-profit organization which works to improve educations standards across South Asia. As part of this program, Ashok Leyland has partnered with EduSports to include a structured sports curriculum in the schools which are part of the Road to School program
- Improve fitness levels of children
- Enhance behavioral& social skills
- Increase attendance of children & reduce drop-out rates
As part of this program, EduSports would have enabled the LLF personnel viz Resource Persons (RPs) and Life Skill Coordinators (LSCs) to implement the EduSports curriculum. Till date, EduSports has trained 120 RPs.
